MOOV SALT CELL REPLACEMENT 5P

$799.00
  • Brand: Moov

Replacement electrolysis cell for Moov salt chlorination systems. The cell is where salted pool water is converted into chlorine, and it is the wearing part of a salt system — when output falls away and the plates no longer respond to cleaning, the cell is replaced rather than the controller. Moov cells use titanium plates and are self-cleaning by polarity inversion, which limits the build-up of calcium and extends cell life.

Specifications

Cell Technology Titanium plates, self-cleaning by polarity inversion
Plumbing In-line cell for 2 in. pipe; reducers used for 1 1/2 in. pipe
Key Features
  • Self-cleaning by polarity inversion — limits the creation of calcium on the plates and extends cell life.
  • Titanium plates, fully immersed in the flow, for consistent chlorine production.
  • In-line body that plumbs into 2 in. pipe, with reducers where the pipe is 1 1/2 in.
  • On a Justsalt controller the remaining life of the cell is displayed in real time, so a replacement is never a surprise.
How to Use

Before replacing a cell, try cleaning it. Moov's descaling procedure:

  1. Switch off the filtration and turn off the chlorinator, then close the valves to isolate the cell.
  2. Unscrew the two nuts and remove the cell.
  3. Fill a basin that holds the cell horizontally with an acidic pH corrector or a diluted hydrochloric acid solution at 1 part acid to 4 parts water — always add acid to water, never the other way around. White spirit vinegar can also be used.
  4. Soak the cell with the titanium plates fully immersed and the electrical connections out of the water. Leave it until the limescale has completely disappeared, 3 to 24 hours depending on the scale; a blast of water helps clear it. Do not rub the electrodes and do not immerse the cell connection plugs.
  5. Rinse, reassemble, and run an electrolysis test to check cell wear and that the unit has reversed the polarity.
  6. Measure the water hardness and set the reversal frequency for self-cleaning accordingly. Self-cleaning is not a substitute for balanced water — above 60 °f of hardness you must correct the water balance first.
Additional Information

Moov cells are shared between the Minisalt and Justsalt lines — the same cell fits either controller at the matching pool-volume tier. Match the cell to the system you own by its model code (MC50, MC85 or MC130) rather than by the size of the pool, and check the plate count on the cell you are removing before ordering.

Can be back ordered — most arrive in 1–4 weeks.
