This kit contains three separate products. Each has its own label and Safety Data Sheet, and the guidance below is reproduced from those sheets (GHS, revision dated 1 January 2024). Read each product label before use.

Shock & Clear — 3 × 400 g

Active ingredient: sodium dichloroisocyanurate (CAS 2893-78-9), ~73%. Signal word: DANGER. Classified Oxidizing solids – Category 2; Acute toxicity (inhalation) – Category 2; Acute toxicity (oral) – Category 4; Skin corrosion – Category 1C; Corrosive to metals – Category 1; Serious eye damage – Category 1; Reproductive toxicity – Category 2; Specific target organ toxicity, single exposure – Category 3 (respiratory system); Acute and chronic aquatic toxicity – Category 1.

• H272 May intensify fire; oxidizer.
• H290 May be corrosive to metals.
• H302 Harmful if swallowed.
• H314 Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
• H318 Causes serious eye damage.
• H330 Fatal if inhaled.
• H335 May cause respiratory irritation.

Storage: keep dry and in a dry area, in the original container with the polyethylene liner retied and the container tightly closed. Store where temperatures do not exceed 125 °F (52 °C) for 24 hours. Never add water to product — always add product to large quantities of water.

Algaecide, 60% polyquat — 1 × 1 litre

Active ingredient: poly[oxyethylene(dimethyliminio)ethylene(dimethyliminio)ethylene dichloride] polyquat (CAS 31075-24-8), 40–70%. Signal word: WARNING. Classified Acute toxicity (oral) – Category 4; Acute toxicity (inhalation) – Category 4; Eye irritation – Category 2B; Acute and chronic aquatic toxicity – Category 1. Liquid, clear amber to dark brown, mild odour, pH 6–8, relative density 1.13–1.16, completely soluble.

• H332 Harmful if inhaled.
• H410 Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Storage: store in a dry, well-ventilated location. Protect from freezing. Keep containers tightly closed. Store away from incompatible materials and ignition sources. Incompatible with anionic polymers.

Metal Remove — 1 × 1 litre

Active ingredient: 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP, CAS 2809-21-4), 18–22%, with phosphonic acid (CAS 13598-36-2). Signal word: DANGER. Classified Corrosive to metals – Category 1; Skin irritation – Category 2; Serious eye damage – Category 1. Liquid, white to yellowish, characteristic odour, miscible in water. TDG Class 8, UN3265, Packing Group III.

Storage: store in the original container protected from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials and food and drink. Store in a corrosive resistant container with a resistant inner liner. Store locked up. Separate from alkalis. Do not store below 0 °C.

Protective Equipment — all three products

• Hands: chemical resistant gloves.
• Eyes: chemical safety goggles; add a face shield where splashing is possible.
• Body: protective clothing to prevent skin contact — long sleeves and long pants at minimum.
• Feet: chemical-resistant footwear.
• Respiratory: an approved respirator where ventilation is inadequate; for the shock, one equipped with a chemical cartridge for protection against chlorine gas and dust.

Never Mix

Never mix these products with each other in concentrated form, or with any other pool chemical. Add each one separately to the pool, in large volumes of water, and allow it to circulate before adding the next.
